Description: Officer Tessier was struck and killed by a tractor-trailer while standing on the side of I-10. Officer Tessier and his partner were preparing to escort an 18-wheeler loaded with military explosives to the Belle Chasse Naval Air Station when the tractor-trailer veered off of the interstate and struck both of them. Officer Tessier and his partner were transported to a local hospital where Officer Tessier died of his injuries. His partner survived.
