Description: Bicycle Officer George Turner was shot while attempting to stop a vehicle that had tried to run him down earlier in the week. Officer Turner spotted the car, which officers had been seeking for several days, and with two other officers gave a chase in a patrol car. When the three approached the car after stopping it at East Rosedale and Louisiana Avenue, one of the passengers drew a .45 automatic pistol and fired at Officer Turner. Officer Turner was able to return fire before he collapsed.
