Description: Corporal Thielepape succumbed to gunshot wounds sustained while arresting a suspect for drug possession and an illegal handgun. Corporal Thielepape handcuffed the suspect behind his back and placed him in the police vehicle. The suspect freed his hands, gained possession of one of Corporal Thielepape's service weapons and shot him three times. Corporal Thielepape returned fire, killing the suspect. Corporal Thielepape succumbed to his injuries 25 days later.
