Description: Special Deputy Sheriff Thacker was killed in an automobile crash while on patrol. The suspect driver was speeding and lost control of his SUV, crossed the median, and struck Deputy Thacker’s patrol vehicle head-on. Deputy Thacker was killed instantly. The suspect, who was driving under the influence of drugs and alcohol, was charged with the murder of Deputy Thacker.
