Description: Jailer Truitt was shot and killed in front of his family in an act of retaliation. While he was a jailer in 1875, he assisted in the arrest and execution of a suspect wanted for murder. Jailer Truitt resigned his duties as jailer in 1886, he moved his family to a neighboring county where relatives of the suspect shot and killed him.
