Description: City Marshal Thompson was shot by a suspect he had arrested for highway robbery. As Marshal Thompson was escorting the suspect to jail, the man pulled a revolver and shot Marshal Thompson in the abdomen and fled the scene. Marshal Thompson died of his injuries several weeks later.
