Description: Detective Tardiff joined in the chase of a man who had shot an officer and murdered a citizen. As Detective Tardiff entered the residence, he was fatally shot in the chest. In an exchange of gunfire, the suspect was also killed. The two wounded police officers, Detectives Peter Menkiewicz and John Kastner recovered.
