Description: Deputy Tatum was killed in a vehicle crash while responding to a burglary in progress call. The dispatcher reported that a woman and her children were alone in the home and that weapons were involved. While attempting to negotiate a curve, Deputy Tatum's department vehicle veered off the road and struck several pine trees. The patrol unit then caught fire trapping Deputy Tatum inside. Deputy Tatum was pronounced dead at the scene.
