Description: Police Officer Thompson was shot by a second man while attempting to arrest a fare-evader at the subway station. Officer Thompson returned fire, wounding one of the suspects. Officer Thompson was transported to the hospital with multiple gunshot wounds and died hours later. His assailant was convicted of murder and sentenced to 25 to life in prison.
