Description: Patrolman Tighe was shot while attempting to arrest a wanted suspect on February 10, 1911. While making the arrest, Patrolman Tighe was attacked and shot by associates of the suspect. Patrolman Tighe died a month later on March 11, 1911 as a result of the injuries he sustained. His assailant was convicted of murder and sentenced to 30 years in prison.
