Description: On April 16, 1938, Patrolman Thome was struck by a vehicle after preventing a mother and child from being struck. Patrolman Thome was returning to his position at the intersection when he was struck. Patrolman Thome was transported to the hospital with a fractured skull, fractured ribs and internal injuries and died a month later on May 26th.
