Description: Guard Turley was ambushed, overpowered and beaten with his own gun by an inmate who then escaped from the Cook county jail. Guard Turley was transported to the hospital where he died. The inmate, who was on death row for murder, was captured days later. The inmate was executed via the electric chair for his various crimes.
