Description: Chief Taylor was shot in the back by Constable Will Whittle over a dispute regarding the handling of a traffic case. Chief Taylor returned fire and killed Constable Whittle. Chief Taylor succumbed to his injuries two days later. His name was approved for the Texas Peace Officers Memorial Constable Whitten name has never been submitted.
