Description: Chief of Police Temple was shot when he responded to the sounds of shots fired at a saloon near his home. Chief Temple ordered a man who was running towards him to stop. The man answered by pulling a gun and shooting Chief Temple in the abdomen. Chief Temple returned fire and wounded the suspect. Chief Temple died shortly after. The suspect was not apprehended.
