Description: Deputy Sheriff Truesdale was shot with his own gun during a jail escape attempt. Deputy Truesdale was escorting an inmate from the courthouse back to the jail when the inmate attacked him, gained control of his service weapon and fired. Deputy Truesdale was transported to the hospital where he died. The inmate was convicted of the murder of Deputy Truesdale and was executed via the electric chair.
