Description: Officer Toney joined in a pursuit where a suspect who had stolen a van was attempting to escape fellow officers. The suspect crashed the van, and fled on foot. Patrolman Toney, in the lead, began foot pursuit. The suspect turned and shot Patrolman Toney once in the neck. He was transported to the local hospital where he was pronounced dead.
