Description: Police Officer Upton was shot and killed by hunters who were illegally hunting coyotes at the Ocmulgee Bluff Equestrian Recreation Area in Jasper County, Georgia. Officer Upton was investigating illegal vehicle activity in the area when hunters spotted him and shot him with a high-powered rifle equipped with night vision. Officer Upton was killed instantly in the incident. Both suspects were apprehended.
