Description: Officer Valentino responded to a radio call regarding a suspicious individual. Officer Valentino and other squad members observed a man talking on a public telephone. When the Police asked the suspect for identification, he pulled a revolver out of his pocket and fired a shot at the approaching officers. The Police returned fire. During this exchange of gunfire, Officer Valentino and the suspect were shot and killed. It was later determined that two of the five bullets exited the suspect's body and struck Officer Valentino through the arm opening of his personal body armor. (friendly fire)
