Description: Officer Vasquez and four officers were processing a narcotics arrest in the Natchez Housing Apartment Complex in southwest Houston. The officers had just arrested the five suspects on narcotics violations and were walking them to the leasing office. One of the suspects suddenly pulled out a concealed handgun and shot Officer Vasquez in the head, killing him instantly. The suspect also fired four shots at Officer Vasquez's partner, Enrique Duharte. The suspect received two life sentences in prison for the murder of Officer Vasquez and the attempted murder of Officer Duharte.
