Description: Deputy Marshal Vier was shot and killed while searching for hog thieves. Marshal Vier stopped at a house near Siloam Springs, Arkansas to investigate when a suspect in an adjoining room shot him. The bullet pierced Marshal Vier's chest, killing him instantly. The suspect fled the scene of the crime.
