Description: Officer Varecha was fatally shot during routine traffic stop. Officer Varecha stopped a motorist for running a red light and tried to issue a summons. The incident escalated to a shootout with Officer Varecha shot four times. Two suspects were charged with murder and received 25 to life sentences. One suspect ended up in a mental facility. Officer Varecha's assailant served 30 years and was released on parole.
