Description: Sergeant Vann was shot and killed in an ambush while stopped at a red light. Sergeant Vann was responding to a call when he stopped at the light. An unknown suspect pulled up to the passenger side of Sergeant Vann's marked patrol vehicle and opened fire. Sergeant Vann was shot multiple times by a high powered rifle and was killed instantly. The suspect was apprehended a week later after an extensive search by numerous law enforcement agencies.
