Description: Patrolman Vandegrift was shot when he responded to a domestic disturbance call where a man threatening his wife with a gun. When Patrolman Vandegrift arrived at the residence, the suspect man shot him before turning the gun on himself. Patrolman Vandegrift was transported to a local hospital where he died two days later from his injuries.
