Description: Deputy VanKuren and Deputy Christopher Burgert were shot and killed while attempting to serve a warrant on a man who failed to appear in court. When the deputies knocked on the door the suspect shot them fatally with a 12-gauge, sawed-off shotgun. Both deputies were pronounced dead at the scene. While searching for the suspect who fled the scene, Investigators discovered two methamphetamine labs on the property.
