Description: Lieutenant Vogt was patrolling a rural road when he was ambushed and shot with a high powered rifle. Lieutenant Vogt was able to put his patrol car in reverse and call for back-up. Investigators found Lieutenant Vogt in his patrol vehicle with a gunshot wound to the head. Lieutenant Vogt was airlifted to the hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. The shooter was arrested.
