Description: Deputy Sheriff Vail collapsed and died of a heart attack after struggling with an unruly suspect in the traffic court bullpen. The suspect, who had been arrested for reckless driving, was yelling and fighting with the other prisoners. Deputies Vail and David Fields took physical action to subdue the belligerent suspect. Deputy Vail collapsed and died at the scene. The suspect was charged with assault and battery.
