Description: Officer Vauris was shot and killed after he and other officers responded to an unwanted person call. The suspect had entered an apartment and the family members feared he was suicidal. While attempting to arrest the suspect, the suspect gained control of Officer Vauris' weapon and shot him in the chest twice. Officer Vauris was transported to a local hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.
