Description: Sergeant Van Dorn was counting prisoners after the noon break at the Clemens State Farm when a convict rushed forward and stabbed him with a shank. Sergeant Van Dorn drew his pistol and fatally shot the convict. Sergeant Van Dorn died at the scene.
