Description: Deputy Sheriff Vaughan was shot as he and Sheriff George Gaddis responded to a call where two suspects were attempting to use counterfeit money to pay for goods. Sheriff Gaddis wounded one of the suspects as they fled. Deputy Vaughan died at the scene. The suspects were arrested the next day and charged with murder.
