Description: Detective Weiland was shot and killed when he and other officers responded at an apartment complex in Weston, Wisconsin as a result of an earlier domestic disturbance and multiple shootings. The suspect had killed two employees at a bank and then killed an attorney at a law firm before barricading himself at an apartment complex. Detective Weiland set up an outer perimeter adjacent to the apartment complex where the suspect was barricaded. The suspect exchanged gunfire with responding officers and Detective Weiland sustained a fatal gunshot wound to the head. The suspect was shot in an exchange of gunfire with the officers and died of his injuries several days later.
