Description: Constables Wood and Curtis Gregory were shot as they escorted a suspect to jail. The brother of the suspect approached the lawmen and demanded his release. When the Constables refused, the suspect pulled a gun and fired. Constable Wood died at the scene. Constable Gregory was also shot but survived. Their assailant was convicted of murder and sentenced to 18 years in prison.
