Description: Guard Walker succumbed to gunshot wounds sustained three days earlier during an escape attempt by two inmates from the Maryland State Penitentiary in Baltimore. Guard Walker was shot twice in the shoulder and chest. He was transported to the hospital where he died three days later. The inmates were shot and arrested by responding guards. They were both convicted of murder and executed by hanging.
