Description: Patrolman Williams was fatally shot, while off-duty, when he attempted to stop a robbery in progress at a convenience store. Tampa Police Officer Ann Williams, wife of Patrolman Williams, returned fire and killed one suspect and wounded another. Auxiliary Hillsborough County Sheriff's Deputy Gary Barker also apprehended another suspect. All suspects were arrested. The assailant of Patrolman Williams was convicted of murder and is serving a life sentence.
