Description: Officer Wierczorek and four other officers were dispatched to a restaurant where a bandit and killer-at-large was spotted. As soon as the officers were at the scene the man opened fire, and Officer Wierczorek was shot four times. Fellow Officer Effinger was also shot and died some months later from the wound. The bandit was also shot, but escaped.
