Description: Chief Weston responded to a burglary in progress call. After finding a broken window Chief Weston located the suspect hiding in an upstairs bedroom. The suspect, who had escaped from a mental hospital that day, fought with Chief Weston as he attempted to place him under arrest. After an intense struggle, while transporting the suspect to jail, Chief Weston began to have chest pains. He radioed the station and requested back-up. He was transported to a local hospital where he died approximately one hour later.
