Description: Deputy Sheriff Wood was shot with his own gun as he attempted to arrest a suspect wanted for assault. As Deputy Wood struggled with the suspect, his gun dropped from its holster. The suspect gained control of the weapon and shot Deputy Wood in the head at point-blank range. The suspect was convicted of first degree murder.
