Description: Trooper Williams was on assignment at a sobriety check point with local sheriff's deputies. He observed an on-coming vehicle make a U-turn to avoid the checkpoint. Trooper Williams and another deputy tried to chase down the vehicle. Trooper William's lost control of his cruiser on the wet pavement, and struck a tree. He was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead. The accident occurred on River Road in Cumberland County, Virginia.
