Description: Sergeant Weddleton was struck and killed while working a construction detail. Sergeant Weddleton was blocking an exit ramp when a drunk driver tried to drive around his patrol car. As Sergeant Weddleton exited his vehicle to stop the car, a second car also driven by a drunk driver crashed into the back of the first car, striking Sergeant Weddleton. Sergeant Weddleton was transported to a hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. Both drivers were charged.
