Description: Officer Wendel was shot and killed after responding to a call involving drug activity. Officer Wendel was at 33rd Street and Midlothian Turnpike questioning a male suspect when a second male approached from behind and shot him in the head and neck. Officer Wendel was transported to MCV Hospital where he died one hour later.
