Description: Ranger White was shot and killed as he and Ranger W. I. Rowe waited to serve two federal warrants on suspects for desertion. When the two deserters returned to the residence, they shot at the Rangers who were standing on the porch. Ranger White was shot in the head and died at the scene. Ranger Rowe, who was shot in the leg, returned fire and the suspects fled.
