Description: Sheriff Woodrell was shot and killed while investigating suspicious activity outside of a oil and gas drilling company. While on the scene, Sheriff Woodrell called for backup. When the officers arrived, they found Sheriff Woodrell shot twice. Sheriff Woodrell gave a description of the suspect that shot him before succumbing to his injuries. One suspect was convicted of second-degree felony murder and sentenced to life in prison. The second suspect was also convicted of second-degree murder and sentenced to 30 years in prison.
