Description: Deputy Whitten and Constable Wilmoth were investigating a reported juvenile runaway. The juvenile had moved in with a suspect who had previous problems with the sheriff's department. The suspect told the deputies to leave his property or he would shoot them. When the deputies asked the suspect to return the runaway, the suspect shot and killed Deputy Whitten and Deputy Wilmoth. The suspect received ninety-nine years for the death of each deputy.
