Description: Sheriff Wahlert and Deputy Bruce Orr were in pursuit of bootleggers during a heavy snowfall when their car veered off the road. As Sheriff Wahlert attempted to dig the car out, his weapon came loose from its shoulder holster. The gun fell to the ground and discharged, with one shot striking him the chest. Sheriff Wahlert bled to death.
