Description: Patrolman Ward was shot in an exchange of gunfire when he answered a domestic disturbance call. Patrolman Ward was attempting to apprehend the suspect who had been threatening to kill his family when the suspect shot him in the head. Although mortally wounded, Patrolman Ward returned fire and shot the suspect in the chest.
