Description: On April 10, 1965, Reserve Officer Wintrow, Police Officer Eugene Hooper and Police Officer Frank Mancini and were shot while attempting to arrest two robbery suspects. One of the suspects gained control of Officer??®s Mancini??®s weapon while resisting arrest and shot the officers. Officer Hooper died at the scene (Panel 38-W: 1). Reserve Officer Wintrow was paralyzed and died of his injuries on August 27, 1993. Officer Mancini was also paralyzed and died of his injuries on January 23, 2012 (Panel 20-E: 28). The suspect was convicted of first degree murder and sentenced to life in prison.
