Description: Reserve Deputy Sheriff Willeford was struck and killed by a passing motorist. Deputy Willeford was on his way home in his department vehicle when he came upon a deer carcass in the road. Deputy Willeford activated his emergency equipment, exited his department vehicle and attempted to remove the carcass from the roadway. While in the process of removing the deer carcass, another vehicle struck Deputy Willeford, critically injuring him. Deputy Willeford was bedridden from June 2002 until his death in November 2009.
