Description: Patrolman Williams was attempting to arrest a man for public intoxication when the man suddenly pulled a gun and shot him in the lower abdomen. An officer, who was nearby, was able to arrest the suspect and call for an ambulance. Patrolman Williams was transferred to a local hospital where doctors determined that the bullet in his abdomen could not be removed. Patrolman Williams succumbed to his injuries the next day.
