Description: Deputy Wendelstorf was beaten by a suspect he was attempting to arrest for assault. Deputy Wendelstorf went to a farm to investigate a report that two brothers had stolen some fruit and attacked the farmer with a razor. As Deputy Wendelstorf attempted to make the arrest, he was attacked by one of the suspects who was wielding a baseball bat. Deputy Wendelstorf died the next day of a fractured skull.
