Description: Police Officer Williams was shot and killed by a suspect in retaliation for a prior arrest. Officer Williams had arrested and jailed the suspect the day before for causing a public disturbance. Upon release from the jail the next morning, the suspect accosted Officer Williams and shot him three times. Officer Williams died at the scene. The suspect was killed before the start of his murder trial in 1890.
