Description: Undersheriff Wofford and Investigator Leonard Ferris were transporting a prisoner from Denver to Oklahoma. Due to the inclimate weather conditions, the officers lost control of their department vehicle, skidded on a sheet of ice and overturned. Undersheriff Wofford was pinned underneath the vehicle and died at the scene. Investigator Ferris sustained multiple injuries in the single-vehicle crash but survived.
